This is stiffened backing for making belts or waistbands. Measures almost 2" wide. I'm not sure what the stiffened part is made from but the covering feels like cotton. Price is for 10" length (stamped,marked) or the 18" length (plain, unmarked.) You may purchase one or more while they last. Your purchase will be cut to order as one continuous length if at all possible. I have two pieces from which your piece or pieces will be cut- A: One piece is unmarked, plain white and measures 36x2". It's being sold by the 18" piece. If you purchase both it will come as one continuous piece. B: The other piece measures 170x2" is marked as shown: THIS DURA-BAC BACKING JJ TESTING CO CERTIFIED WASH OR CLEAN AS GARMENT FILLER SANITIZED TREATED. It is priced per 10" piece. If you purchase more than one it will come as one continuous piece. As shown, there is soil and spotting from age and storage on most of it. I don't know the exact age of this but my guess would be early to mid 1900s.
