BAT NEEDLE FELTING KIT Bats are especially popular in the Fall as we approach Halloween but are helpful all year long in keeping the insect population in check. They are truly amazing creatures! This Bat Kit is designed to guide confident new as well as experienced needle felters to make 2 or 3 of their own adorable bats! The kit has plenty of wool in shades of grey and brown to make two or three 2”x8” bats as described. You can choose to make them cute or creepy to keep as your own or gift to someone special. Needle Felting is a simple and forgiving process in which you can shape wool fiber into anything you can imagine by poking it with a single barbed needle. The more the fiber is needled, the more dense it becomes. It’s a magical process that can be addictive for some of us! Step by step needle felting instructions guide you through the simple process of poking the wool with a barbed needle to make it stick together to form your cute bats. Diagrams are included to gauge the size of the parts you make as well as the finished sculptures. Tips for new needle felters and other guidance learned from over 10 years of teaching the craft, is provided as well. Two felting needles, 38T and 38star, complete the package. Needles can be used for future projects as well. You will need to provide your own felting surface such as a sponge or small pillow ( an oven mitt even works in a pinch!)or you may choose to purchase one of my two-toned all wool felting pads at additional cost. My Wool Felting Pads last longer than foam and are a more environmentally friendly alternative and come with 2 additional needles. I developed my wool felting pads after I had been using foam blocks for many years. I was tired of the foam flaking and becoming part of my projects and I disliked the thought of the used foam filling the landfills. These instructions are merely a place to begin. You are only limited by your imagination! Included in this kit: Needle Felting instructions with diagrams and beginner tips Wool fiber enough for 2 or 3, 2”x8” bats 2 felting needles (38T, 38star) All is packaged in a reclosable kraft box, suitable for gift giving. Please Note: This kit and resulting sculptures are not intended for small children. Wool and small parts could pose a choking hazard.
