The four wheeled, four person powered pedel vehicle had a rough start on it's maiden test run. After arriving at Ventura Harbor on a flatbed truck, the Meissner crew unloaded the professionally built, sandrail looking vehicle and prepared it for a test drive and float trip. Once they pedeled from the parking lot and onto the sandy beach, their kinetic sculpture sank axle deep in the soft sand requiring the crew to push it the rest of the way to the water. Once the $1500 pontoons where attached, the craft, made with 2" aluminum pipes, and equiped with a fivespeed gear box from a Honda motorcycle, moved smoothly through the waters at Mother's Cove as young children visiting the beach watched in awe.
