Black and White Bone Beads

This colorful mix of Krobo beads is a traditional craft of Ghana in West Africa. The beads are formed using pulverized glass that is heated and a clay kiln. Each bead is then hand polished and painted with a colorful design. Many of the patterns you see on these beads are inspired by antique Venetian Trade Beads. Each strand measures approximately 32 long with individual beads 11-13mm in diameter and about 59 beads on a string.
