Clairefontaine PASTELMAT

Pastelmat are unique pads in the pastel market. These glued pads contain 12 sheets of 360gsm card, each containing 3 sheets of 4 varying shades. Thanks to its soft and adherent surface, Pastelmat card doesn't require the use of fixative between each layer, you are able to multiply the layers without a saturation effect, and blending is much more comfortable.  The acid free Pastelmat is a cardboard on which thin fibres of cellulose are fixed and resistant, keeping its original properties after being rubbed or wet. Pastelmat pads from Clairefontaine were designed to meet the specific expectations of serious pastel artists. Pastelmat's strong, buttery surface has more tooth than traditional Ingres papers but is not abrasive, allowing painterly effects to be achieved.
