Hobbs Heirloom Premium Batting is made from 80% natural cotton and 20% fine polyester. Perfect for both machine and hand quilting, this needle punched batting resists bearding and migrating. The light resin bonding provides extra strength and durability to your quilts. Prewashing is not recommended. Shrinkage of 3-5% is standard, leaving your quilt with an antique puckered appearance. Ideal for use with medium and dark fabrics, Hobbs Heirloom Premium can be quilted up to 3 1/2 apart.

This batting will not separate, bunch or beard. This 100% USA grown cotton is punched with hundreds of needles through a thin base material (polymer fibers) to prevent tearing, shifting, migrating or creeping through the cover fabric making it 87.5% cotton/12.5% polymer fibers. Needled cotton's flexibility makes it ideal for both inside and outside use. Fibers are held together without glue so a quilting needle glides easily through the batting.
