Blending stumps rub across these soft, powdery materials to combine colors and smudge away harsh edges and undesired directional lines into a soft, smooth consistent layer. Blending stumps also offer the ability to draw with the lifted colors to form extremely light, soft marks. The sturdy stump is sharpened to a point at both ends for more continuous usage and color changes. Simply reshape dirty ends with a normal sharpener or sanding paper to guarantee further clean blending. The results achieved with blending stumps can be exquisite.
