A very fine stylized chrysanthemum brooch, circa 1900, attributed to Marcus & Co. and accompanied by a Marcus & Co. signed vintage box, original to the brooch. The freshwater Mississippi river natural pearls form the petals and in the center a 1.85-carat old European cut diamond with H-G color and VS clarity for the pistil; crafted in platinum over 14K gold; further accented with old European and single cut diamonds, weighing a total of approximately 0.60 carat, most H-J color and VS-SI clarity; measures 3 x 2 inches; weight 40.62 g.
