I haven't offered felting needles in quite awhile because the size 36 spiral needle that I had been getting was discontinued. I tried different needles and could not find a needle to replace it until I started using these 36 star needles--so felting needles are back. You'll still get the original size 40 spiral and 38 spiral, but the set now include the size 36 star. The size 40 and 38 needles are a spiral or twisted type that grab the wool and twist to felt fast. This 36 star grabs more wool than the previous 36 twist wool and seems to felt faster with less 'poke' marks which makes for more efficient felting. This is a set of 6 needles--2 each of 40 twisted, 38 twist and 2 36 star-- or you can choose 6 pieces of the same size -- 6 each of 40 twist, 38 twist or 36 star. I have 'color coded' the tops of each needle and there is a color guide in the package. They are packaged up and ready to begin felting! They are standard 3 inch size needles and will fit in felting tools also. Although the little felt balls come in different colors, each holds the exact same needle sizes and is a great place to store your needles if you don't have a wool pincushion.
