This dainty circa 1930s to 1940s gemstone bead necklace features about 178--if I counted correctly--garnet beads in organic form, somewhat nuggety although with with fairly smooth surfaces. The gold-tone clasp a Deco-era screw barrel (the barrel clasp came on the scene in 1930) is a larger size. The beads are strung on light colored silk thread.
