The beads were produced in Venice some time between the late 1800s and 1920 and were never circulated. They were purchased from the consortium of manufacturers that made them in a bulk purchase. The beads were made by hand and there are slight variations in color, size and shape. The strands ere interspersed with small segments of vintage viridian green vulcanite heishi beads from Africa.
