Jonathan Frid (December 2, 1924 - April 14, 2012) was a Canadian actor, probably best known for his portrayal of Barnabas Collins in the original Dark Shadows. He also played Bramwell Collins in the final year of the show. Born John Herbert Frid, after war service in the Canadian Navy he attended McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada before attending the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.
