The inner fiber is fine, soft, and warm while the outer fiber of the wool is longer and naturally water-repellent. Our virgin wool is 100% pure, and it has not been blended with any other fibers. This lettopi yarn is made in Iceland by Istex – the top producer of Icelandic knitting yarn since 1896. We care deeply about preserving the history and heritage of Icelandic knitting and sheep farming. In addition to being OEKO-TEX certified, Istex is also 80% owned by Icelandic farmers.

Léttlopi - Lopi light worsted weight 100% wool yarn

Pure resilient Icelandic wool! This light and fluffy single-ply yarn is traditionally used for Icelandic sweaters. This heavy-worsted/aran weight works up into sweaters that are appropriate for indoor and outdoor wear. Fabric made from this yarn will have a classic wool feel, be slightly fuzzy, extremely durable, lightweight, breathable, and bloom beautifully when washed. This yarn also felts nicely making it a good choice for knit-to-felt projects.
