Mother's Mag Polish turns reflector GOLD - Flashlight Modding and DIY Parts

Tonight I was experimenting with making modifications to a Convoy S2 reflector. In the process I scratched the surface, so I went at it with mother’s mag to see if I could get the mirror surface back. To my surprise, it turned the reflector GOLD. Rinsing with water and alcohol did nothing, so now it’s sitting in Greased Lightning to see what that does. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
