Pastelmat by Clairefontaine of France is a truely wonderful and unique paper. It combines the advantages of both the velour and the sanded paper surfaces to create an almost flat paper that can take and easily hold multiple layers of pastel. The paper has a very pleasant touch and as the surface is not pronounced it allows for precise details and delicate veils whilst also having the ability to grab and hold multiple layers of colour.
