From extracting the healthiest seeds and maintaining the most nutrient-rich soil to using century-old farming techniques and wisdom to sow, water, protect and harvest the best quality plants. Not to mention, it takes an enormous amount of plant material to produce a single bottle of essential oil. And along with costs associated with farming, such as water, fuel, energy and fertilizer come the cost of paying workers a fair living wage. Ensuring that the farms we partner with pay their workers ethically is an essential requirement for us and something that we do not and will never compromise on. #2 IMPORTING Once the oils are carefully obtained and ready to be sent over, they are then imported from dozens of countries and regions around the globe. International imports, especially of flammable oils, have always been expensive. But as the cost of fuel has gone up, these costs have increased exponentially in recent times. #3 TESTING & QUALITY CHECKING Once the oils arrive at our facility, we send a sample to top essential oil chemists at Essential Oil University who GC/MS tests each oil. GC/MS tests reveal exactly what is in an essential oil sample. From there, the chemists analyze the report and look for any impurities or indicators that the oil lacks quality. They then send us these results. Additionally, our in-house team of aromatherapists and experts examine each oil for purity and quality by analyzing the GC/MS reports and performing organoleptic, refractive index, specific gravity and optical rotation tests. #4 BOTTLING & PACKAGING When the oils are received and samples are drawn, they are then placed in temperature-controlled rooms before being hand-poured and bottled or used as ingredients in our aromatherapy bath salts, perfumes, room sprays and more. #4 LABOR Finally, and most importantly, there’s the cost of paying our employees so we can continue providing you with our high-quality essential oils and aromatherapy products.
