Dye stains penetrate deep into the wood to enhance the wood grain and produce vibrant colors. Dye Stains come ready to use after stirring and are available in 12 colors in pints and gallons. These Dye Stains can be by themselves mixed with General Finishes pigmented stains to create custom colors or as a toner when mixed with water based topcoats and are easy to clean up with soap and water. They can be applied with a brush or sprayer.

These are liquid concentrates that are soluble with either water or alcohol. Each 2 oz. bottle makes 1/2 gallon of tint dye. These are perfect toners for shellacs, water based finishes, lacquers, and varnishes. To Use as a Dye Stain: Mix with tap or distilled water for an economical, non-flammable stain OR mix with alcohol for a fast-drying, non-grain raising stain. No waiting or straining is necessary because the dye is pre-dissolved. Suggested mix ratio is 2 oz.
