Winter White is the first Color of the Month for 2024! This months limited edition yarn is a very softly dyed variegated colorway. Winter White starts with a natural wool base and then I pour on the smallest amount of dye you in imagine in different blends of champagne, orchid, baby blue, aqua and silver gray. The final yarn is a soft silvery variegated colorway with pops of purple and icy blue. I put in a surprisingly large amount of work to create such a softly colored yarn- but I think that's what makes it so special!  It's become a tradition for me to tackle soft/neutral colorways in January. I'm definitely more inspired by soft neutrals this time of year when natures palette goes white, but also creatively it's a challenge to  show restraint and create something interesting and captivating with as little as possible.  When I designed this colorway, I had the intention of using it alone for a sweater, but if you are looking to pair this colorway with something for the permanent collection or something from your ontheround stash, I would recommend past color of the month colorways Sugarplum Fairy or Elusive Purple Pumpkin, After Midnight, Emerald City, Wayward, Hemlock, or Shadow.  Winter White is available throughout the month of January on d Nimble Sock.  Plush Single, Plush DK,  and Plush Bulky. Please use the drop down menu to choose the base that you would like to order.  Nimble Sock Superwash Merino Wool/ Nylon (85/15), 19.5 micron merino Fingering Weight, 2 ply 394 Yards, 100 g  ***** Plush Single  3.5 oz/ 430 YardsSingle /  Fingering Weight 19.5 Micron Superwash merino wool When held double this yarn will create a DK yarn.  ***** Plush DK  100 Grams/ 246 yards 4 ply /  DK Weight 19.5 Micron Superwash merino wool When held double this yarn will create a Bulky yarn.  *****  Plush Bulky  Superwash Merino Wool 19.5 micron merino Chunky/Bulky Weight, 2 Ply 109 Yards, 100 g *** All of my yarn bases are certified cruelty free. Superwash yarn is technically machine washable in a gentle cycle with like colors, I do however recommend hand washing your knits made with superwash yarn as the washer will tug and pull at your knits causing them to lose their shape or worse rip. I was my knits in the sink using luke warm water and Long Winter Farm Sweater Soap. This soap has lanolin in it which protects the natural fibers. I spot wash any stains and allow my sweater to soak for approximately 30 minutes. Rinse your sweater with cool water if necessary and them gently wring out any extra water, I use my top load washer spin cycle this this, but you can use a towel as well.  After the excess water is removed, lay your garment  flat to air dry.  This fiber was handdyed by ontheround using professional quality acid dyes. I dye my yarn in small batches and no skein will be 100% the same- that's what makes working with hand dyed yarn so fun! I do my very best to accurately photograph my yarns but please note that not all monitors are the same. My yarn is made in my smoke-free, pet free studio in Rockland Maine.
