These handcarved masks are made in the mountain village of Nahuala', Guatemala. The artisans of Nahuala' are famous for their handcarved altar tables, shrines, slingshots and animals. They often make wooden baby carriers and toys for their childrens. The wooden masks are carved in white pine and the colorful painted motifs are reminiscent of the brightly woven fabrics of the region.
